Part of the Solution

Part of the Solution

The following is a rough, first-draft of PART OF THE SOLUTION,
a project that envisions a database that matches and
organizes resident resources to address
community concerns.

  • See something in the community that needs repair?
  • Want to make a small improvement to the neighborhood but think you're alone?

If it bothers you, chances are it drives some of your neighbors crazy too. Part of the Solution provides a way for you to do something about it.

  • First, complete the following form describing the target situation.
  • Then, if you haven't already sone so, register your resource data (skills, tools you own, time you'r willing to put in, etc.) into the database. For example:

Here's the problem I'm ready to help solve (limit 500 words):

There’s an old construction sign on the street light on the northeast corner of 37th Avenue and 75th Street that should be removed. It’s big – maybe 3 feet by 2 feet – and it’s ugly. It's up about 10 feet, and apparently held on by wires. There's not much info on the sign to read now. But I’d really like to see it removed.

Got a Picture?  Upload it here:

How many people are needed to solve the problem?

X   2-3

What's needed in terms of tools, skills, time, etc.

Special Tools: A 10 foot ladder

Skills Needed: A willingness to climb the ladder

How long will it take: 10 minutes.

Other Considerations:

When are you available?

M      9 – 5

T       Earlier

W      Later

Calendar will contact you to set up a date when enough people and tools have been volunteered.
