Monthly Meeting of Community Board 3

Liquor License Applications

BOARD MEETING
Agenda  | View From the Chair  | Liquor License Applications  | The Votes

The State Liquor Authority provides the Community Board an opportunity to comment on liquor license applications.

All new liquor license applications are first reviewed by the Business and Economic Development Committee. At the Monthly Meeting of Community Board 3 a Public Hearing on the application is held. The Business and Economic Development Committee presents their assessment and the Board then votes to recommend the application be approved or denied.

Renewal applications are checked by the District Office for for violations or complaints. If there are none, the application is recommended for approval without further Board action. If there are complaints against the establishment the application is referred to the Business Development Committee for review and the application is brought before the full Board.

The Board welcomes and encourages comment from the community regarding State Liquor Authority Applications. Community input is vital in helping the Board determine the appropriateness of a liquor license application.
