Volunteer Opportunities

A community is made great by the effort of its volunteers. Community Board members are unsalaried with most involved in a variety of local volunteer activities. If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity, or to recruit volunteers, the Community Board might be able to help.

Each year the Community Board itself sponsors a Youth Jobs Fair, a Health Fair, and other activities that need volunteers.

  • The Louis Armstrong House Museum - The mission of the Louis Armstrong House & Archives is to preserve and promote the cultural legacy of Louis Armstrong. This includes making the materials in the archives available to everyone, serving as a reference source for researchers, presenting concerts and educational programs about his life, and operating his home as a historic house museum. The House is located at 34-56 107th Street in Corona. A volunteer application can be received at the house or by calling 718 478 8274.
  • Call or drop by the Community Board office to learn about current projects that can use your help. Or you might review the listing to community and civic organizations here.
