A community is made great by the effort of its volunteers. Community Board members are unsalaried with most involved in a variety of local volunteer activities. If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity, or to recruit volunteers, the Community Board might be able to help.
Each year the Community Board itself sponsors a Business-Youth Convention, The Leon Von Holden Memorial Health Fair, and other activities that need volunteers.
The Louis Armstrong House Museum - The mission of the Louis Armstrong House & Archives is to preserve and promote the cultural legacy of Louis Armstrong. This includes making the materials in the archives available to everyone, serving as a reference source for researchers, presenting concerts and educational programs about his life, and operating his home as a historic house museum. The House is located at 34-56 107th Street in Corona. A volunteer application can be received at the house or by calling 718 478 8274.
Call or drop by the Community Board office to learn about current projects that can use your help. Or you might review the listing to community and civic organizations here.
